DESCRIPTION REABILITA CAL AC FINO is a dry mortar, exclusively formulated from Natural Hydraulic Lime, intended for the execution of smooth finishes with an excellent permeability to vapour in renovation and rehabilitation solutions of old coatings . I t i ncorpora tes f ine siliceous and calcareous aggregates , carefully selected and a d di tion s, having particular properties of thixotropy, vapour permeability and durability particularly adapted to be used in coating rehabilitation systems . 2. FIELD OF USE REA BILITA CAL AC FINO is used as a finish in the maintenance and rehabilitation of buildings , n amely when smooth finishes are wanted in the rehabilitation of old buildings’ inter nal or exter nal coatings that require high levels of water vapour permeability . The us e of the Natural Hydraulic Lime binder and its special composi tion results in an excellent physical - chemical behaviour and mechanical performance in connection with the diverse materials constituting this type of substrate s . REABILITA CAL AC FINO constitu tes the smooth finish of the rehabilitation scheme of REABILTA Cal range , produ cts that are exclusively formulated from Natural Hydraulic Lime . Since the re are specific situations in each rehabilitation work, our Technical Services should be consulted at the time of product selection . 3. Valid ity 6 months provided the conditions of the original packaging remain unaltered and in good storage conditions, protected from extreme temperature and humidity . 6. A P PLICA TION a) Substrate prepa ration Substrate s prepared with REABILITA CAL AC mortar, t rowelled and hardened are ready to rece ive REABILITA CAL AC FINO . In cas e of direct a p plica tion on another type of re nder, these should be regular, cohesive, clean and without any type of material tha t affects the normal adhesion conditions . REABILITA CAL AC FINO should be ap pli ed on REABILITA CAL AC surfaces while still fres h , but sufficiently hardened to rece ive this kind of finish . b) Mortar preparation REABILITA CAL AC FINO should be mix ed with th e appropriate quanti ty of water (9,5 to 10,0 litre s p e r 20 kg bag ), in small quanti tie s and using an electric m ixer , so as to obtain a uniform and lump - free paste . c) A p plica tion A pply REABILITA CAL AC FINO with a metal trowel so as to obtain a smooth and h omog eneous film in order to fill all surface pore s of the mortar already ap pli ed . The second layer should be applied when the first one is hardened , followed by the n umber of coats ne eded to obtain a perfe ctly smooth texture, never exce e d ing a total thickn ess of 1 - 2 mm. Prior to the p aint application , let REABILITA CAL AC FINO dry for at least 14 d ays . The painting scheme to be carried out should be of silicate base or aqueous base with good water vapour permeability . d) Restri ction s REABILI TA CAL AC FINO should not be applied at room and substrate temperatures below 5 °C and above 30 °C. It has a curing period of 28 days . In hot and/or dry weather or when substrate s are directly exposed to sunlight , the substrate should be previously wetted and ap plication should only be started when it is dry . Under these conditions daily watering of the surfaces should be carried out, for one week, so as to keep renders permanently moist . Application in the presence of strong winds may cause render cracking. I n such case, walls should be protected so as to minimize the effects of wind action . e) Complementary Advices The mixing water should be free of any impurities (clays, organic matter) and drinking water should be preferably used ; No mortar that has exceede d its open time should be applied. Do not soften mortars by adding water after preparation . Do not add any other products to the mortar. REABILITA CAL AC FINO should be applied as it is shown in its original packaging .
